Not Quite At The Crying Stage Yet

Having your body and it's functions taken over by a foreign being that everyone is claiming is one thing. Dealing with nausea, severe sluggishness, and uterus cramps are another.

But the view inside the womb and the gratification that all the annoyances are worth it... absolutely stunning and wonderful.

It was our 12 week checkup, and Scott and I were able to see the baby via ultrasound. We have seen it before at about 6 weeks, but then it was only a small-ish blob with a heatbeat. At that time, seeing the heartbeat was relieving, but it hardly even looked like a baby at that point.

Having said that, this ultrasound was a little more special in that this actually baby LOOKED like a baby. It kicked and squirmed. It had a spine, a skull, a cute nose. It was beautiful.
