The True Sign of a Nerd?

My bangs are not cooperating with me today. I want them to sweep to my left, but alas! they are sweeping to my right. And it's not working with how I did the rest of my hair this morning. I look like such a dweeb.

On the drive into work, I kept trying to pull my bangs to the left... trying to will them to obey.

Even as I got my morning coffee, ate my yogurt breakfast, I kept pulling my bangs to my left. I even tried smashing them across my forehead and holding them there. But no such luck. My bangs were going to fall to my right today.

Damn it.

Frustrated, I turned to two other engineers at work and jokingly asked them, "Do any of you guys have a bobby pin?"

They just laughed at me.

Then, Fred (a father of two young kids, who is also married to a very intelligent woman) replied, "Use a paper clip."

Puzzled, but now very interested in this idea, I grab a paper clip from my desk and slid it into my hair.

Fred laughed, "Now THAT'S a sign of a true nerd."















But at least now, my bangs are going to my left.
