I was traveling out of town to visit a friend who was recovery from surgery to remove two cists on her ovaries. The dogs were traveling with me, which I love. They keep me company during the trip. (Scott was out of town with his visiting cousin, helping his mom fix her roof.)
After I checked into my hotel room, I realized that I forgotten my contact case. But improvising, I poured some water into the bottom of a plastic glass and put my contact in that. That way, it will stay hydrated and I can reuse it tomorrow.
After taking the dogs on a long walk to get rid of some of their Jack Russell energy, I headed back in my air-conditioned room for relaxation. Thirsty, I headed to the mini-bathroom for some water to drink. I grabbed a plastic cup, filled it, and then quenched my thirst.
After a good night's sleep, with my two dogs keeping my feet and side warm, I woke up early. I was off to visit my friend in the hospital for the last time and then drive home. I dragged myself to the bathroom to take a shower and then realized what I had done the night before:
I drank my contact.
Ugh.
