Connor never ceases to amaze us. It seems like in the last eight or so months, he has grown from a young boy into a little man. He's four, but it seems like he is growing up so fast.
We traveled to the coast to visit family and friends over the Fourth of July holiday. It was a fun time, and one afternoon that Connor was able to hang out with Scott's mother, he found THE secret gem of both of our childhood days:
Legos.
It just so happened that Scott's mom had saved all of his old Legos in a small box from when he was a little boy. And so when we returned to her house from four-wheeling with friends to pick Connor up, he was busy playing quietly on the ground... putting together buildings and little Lego people. It was great to see him in such concentration.
Connor's attraction COULD also be fed by the fact that he owns the Lego Star Wars and the Lego Indiana Jones video games. But I digress.
Needless-to-say, on our way home from the coast, we toted that entire box of Scott's old Legos home with us. And now that he's been able to play with them, we've found that his favorite Lego character is Indiana Jones (that we ended up getting suckered into buying for him on the way home). He's always begging us to play with him. And honestly, I would probably play with him more, but he hogs the Indiana Jones Lego guy. And I don't ALWAYS like to be the bad guy... Kidding... Sort of.
Because Scott and I vividly remember our Lego childhood, we made a pact on our way home from the coast that Legos would NOT be spread out all over the house... that we would be stern with Connor in picking up the little blocks and toys from under our sensitive feet before bed... that we would be FIRM in this rule... No questions asked.
As of this afternoon, Lego creations now decorate the entire house... Trucks, airplanes, jailhouses, weapons, and all sorts of little Lego people.
But actually, it's kind of cool. Especially because they are coming from such a bright four-year old.
